The welterweight showdown between Matt Brown and Miguel Baeza, previously booked for UFC Columbus, has been rescheduled.

UFC officials announced on social media Monday that Brown vs. Baeza would be taking place May 16 in Jacksonville, Florida. That’s the third card of a three-event stint scheduled for the city in just eight days. All three events take place at the Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena.

Cageside Press spoke to Brown on the very day the pair’s original fight was scheduled to go down. At the time, “The Immortal” admitted that he had no clue when the fight might come to pass. “I’m just caught in limbo, trying to get in the best training I can,” he told us, later adding “The whole world’s changing right now. I don’t know how all this is going to turn out, but I get the feeling the world’s never going to be the same after this.”

Well, the good news is, Brown (22-16) has a date. The 39-year old was last seen in action this past December, picking up a knockout victory over Ben Saunders. It was his second straight knockout win — but came years after his annihilation of Diego Sanchez via elbow.

Miguel Baeza (8-0) will be making his second walk to the octagon when he faces Brown. The undefeated “Caramel Thunder” finished Hector Aldana at UFC Tampa last year.
